Prior to WoW, no MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) game had ever hit subscribers by the number of millions, even competing MMO games like Ultima Online and EverQuest. World of Warcraft had currently surpassed 4 million paying users and now has more than 10 million worldwide. The Wrath of the Lich King will be second major WoW expansion, after the first, WoW: The Burning Crusade which has sold for millions of copies. “The Lich King” is currently still in beta testing, although for now, participation in the beta is only available to players with active Burning Crusade accounts, and even then, the betas are still only distributed to the selected few. We do hope within a few months the expansion will launch and be available to the general public as reports from those who have played the beta version are largely positive, with almost no major concerns.
