Video Review of Superman Returns: The Videogame

We have posted Superman Returns: the Videogame several weeks ago. And now, IGN has a video review of it. FYI, Superman Returns is a video game loosely based on the movie Superman Returns, developed by Electronic Arts-Tiburon in Orlando, Fla., in conjunction with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Comics. The game features storylines from the movie and more than 60 years of comic book content. EA Tiburon has claimed that the game combines strong creative vision and compelling new technology to deliver a powerful and emotional gaming experience to their consumers, and they will experience a real sense of flying while mastering Superman’s superhero powers to save Metropolis. Available on the Xbox and PlayStation 2, this game is probably the best Superman game yet. Watch the video after the jump!

Rainbow Six Las Vegas Video Review

Video Review: Rainbow Six Las Vegas

IGN delievers a review of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas in video form. This game is available now on the Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, and PC platforms. Video after the jump.

Rainbow Six: Vegas returns to form as an excellent tactical shooter, but is much more accessible for the average shooter fan with streamlined controls and a simple health system. The sprawling levels like the glowing Fremont Street or the Hoover Dam open up Rainbow like it’s never been before, and the result is a balanced shooter that is as much close-quarter combat as long-range head shots

Rule Of Rose’s UK Release Cancelled

Rule Of Rose's UK Release Cancelled

Officials from Italian publisher 505 Games has confirmed that they will not be publishing the controversial PlayStation 2 title, Rule of Rose, in the UK due to complaints from various European Union officials. The game has been criticized by the mayor of Rome and Europe’s justice and security commissioner, Franco Frattini, who said the game contained “obscene cruelty and brutality.” Moreover, it had a PEGI rating of 16+, which some called ludicrous.

Laurie Hall, The British Video Standards Council secretary, released a statement about the game:

I have no idea where the suggestion of in-game sadomasochism has come from, nor children being buried underground. These are things that have been completely made up.” Hall also countered Frattini’s statement, by saying, “I wouldn’t call the game violent. We’re not worried about our integrity being called into question, because Mr Frattini’s quotes are nonsense.

Rule of Rose has been rated M for Mature in the States, because of blood, intense violence, suggestive themes, and many believe the game has erotic undertones involving the game’s minor girl cast.
