Experience 3D Vision Shooting With jDome

by Stephen on August 21, 2008

jDome Spherical Screen for FPS

A new prototype screen being introduced at the Leipzig Games Convention. It lets you experience first person shooter gamers play FPS games like you never before. The device is called jDome, it provides peripheral vision outside the very center of gamers gaze that gives the illusion of 3D. jDome achieves this illusion by using a spherical-shaped screen to display the games with “additional details” on the outer ring of the sphere, so instead of looking through a rectangle on normal LCD / Monitor, the gamers will see through a sphere with “hazed” extra vision, just like human visions normally would. Most testers were amused by the depth of immersion jDome provided. No details on price and availability so far, but we will keep you posted. Video after the break. [jDome] Read more

Keypad Substitute Gamepad Concept

by Stephen on August 3, 2008

Gamepad Concept

What you’re seeing is the latest gamepad concept from Hakan Bogazpinar, designer from Turkey. It easily substitutes the tiny directional keys on the right-bottom side of your keyboard, for an easy reaching up, down, right, left buttons and probably number 1-10, for some spells or weapon easy buttons. The design looks classy, and friendly to the hand also. I’ve been wanting for some keypad replacement that alleviates my tired hurting hand. [BeHance]

Sony PSP 3000 Rumor

by Stephen on July 22, 2008

SONY PSP 3000

The sequel to an earlier version of PSP has been rumoured to have important upgrades. These upgrades are notably the waterproof feature, dust proof, crushproof, and cellphone support with built in microphone. You could expect the PSP to be working in prime condition even after being submerged into the water, or ran over by car (we do not advice the latter though). No official specs have been released.  [ChinaBBS]
