Tekken 6 With 40 Characters

Katsuhiro Harada, Tekken’s series director, explained that the age-old tradition of featuring unlockable characters in fighting games is “outdated” and “no longer useful,” Harada also explained that the unlock process was originally intended to increase the longevity of coin-op arcade machines. He confirmed that the new Tekken 6 will be available with all 40 of its characters for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 27th of this year. [VideoGamer]

Am I the only one who thinks that 40 is an inflated number for Tekken? I hope that 20 aren’t just pallate swaps, like how all of the unlockables for Tekken normally were.

At least Soul Calibur had unlockable characters that were different from each other.

Does this mean I’m not buying the game? No. I’m still going to read reviews on it first. Then make an educated decision.
