
Sony will release not one but five Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP-3000) for the Japanese market on December 10th, 2009. Available in Vibrant Blue, Piano Black, Pearl White and Radiant Red, four of these bundles are “Value Pack” bundles that include the PSP-3000 and accessories for 19,800 Yen ($219.50). Meanwhile, the other bundle is a Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G dealio with fewer accessories for 18,500 Yen ($205). [Kotaku]

Here’s a debut trailer of Rebellion Developments’ upcoming Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron for the PSP. This third-person shooter game will feature twelve mission campaigns, a 16-player multiplayer mode and simultaneous ground and space combats. The game itself will be released on November 3, 2009. After releasing the new Sony PSPgo, the company also launched the PSP Firmware Update 6.10 that provides a full compatibility with MediaGo and with all new PSP video games. The new firmware also features the SensMe, which is a music mood and tempo detection system that will categorize the music tracks. Meanwhile, the Tethering (PSPgo only) feature enables the portable console to use a Bluetooth-enabled cell phone as a modem to connect to the internet. SCEA has confirmed that SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 will be released exclusively for the Sony PSP on November 24th, 2009. The game will feature multiplayer co-op over both Ad-Hoc and Infrastructure modes. You will be able to link up with 2-4 players and progress through the game’s campaign wirelessly. The Sony PSP firmware update (v6.00) will be available soon. This is actually a minor update. The new firmware 6.00 provides a few new colors under the Theme Settings. These new theme colors can be used on PSP models 2000 or after (PSP-2000, 3000 and N1000). The new updates also renames the Network Update option as the System Update. [Gamertell]
