Word has it that a new $100 price cut for the Sony PlayStation 3 is coming in mid-august this year. Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia reports in his latest industry note that “industry sources indicate Sony is planning a $100 price cut on the PS3 in mid-August, just prior the launch of Madden (8/18) and the start of the back to school shopping season. It seems that Activision will release their famous video games into a TV series. The Hollywood Reporter said that the company have set up deals for a World of Warcraft and a Call of Duty movies. However, the CEO of Activision Blizzard refused to comment to the Hollywood Reporter on either Warcraft or Call of Duty.
