
Capcom today announced a new Super Street Fighter IV, a standalone title with eight new characters added and some tweaks made based on community feedback. Some of new characters are T. Hawk, Dee Jay, and newcomer Juri. In terms of improvements to the game itself, producer Yoshinori Ono says that every character has been changed slightly based on comments from both players and the dev team, while an improved online experience is also promised. The game will be launched in Spring 2010 for the Sony PS3 and Xbox 360. [GameSpot]

The Red Faction: Guerrilla Smasher Pack will be made available on October 1st, 2009 for $4.99. Available for Xbox 360 and PS3, the pack includes 8 maps for the offline Wrecking Crew mode and the new found ability to use mechs in multiplayer. [Destructoid]

2K Games’s BioShock 2 will be available worldwide on February 9th, 2010 for PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The game takes place about ten years after the events of the original BioShock. The player takes the role of the first Big Daddy, a prototype for the Big Daddies seen in the original game. The character possesses superior speed, intelligence, and free will. [Kotaku]

Here is good news for PlayStation 3 owners around the globe. Sony has launched the 3.01 firmware update for the console on the Playstation Network. This minor patch will fix the issues some gamers were facing after updating to version 3.00 including bugs in Uncharted and the DualShock controller malfunctioning. [Kotaku]
