Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is an explosive open-world action game set in a massive, highly reactive, war-torn world. The game is set in August 2010. The story follows the player’s hunt for Ramon Solano, a druglord who contracted the player as mercenary for a job then subsequently refused to pay and tried to kill him/her. Following a militaristic coup, Solano becomes the dictator of Venezuela, and later control of the country’s oil supply, resulting in an international oil crisis that may escalate to war for oil domination. Mercenaries 2 features the latest and most dangerous in civilian and military tech, everything from shiny new sports cars, to the future-tech satellite-guided bunker-busting mini-nuke. Features new to Mercenaries 2 include improved destructible environments, and an online co-operative mode, a fire effects engine that allows the player to ignite things such as oil, foliage, and trees and the ability to swim. Mercenaries 2 is due for release in the United States on August 31, 2008 and in Europe on September 5, 2008. Check also the video after the break. [IGN] More

Prior to WoW, no MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) game had ever hit subscribers by the number of millions, even competing MMO games like Ultima Online and EverQuest. World of Warcraft had currently surpassed 4 million paying users and now has more than 10 million worldwide. The Wrath of the Lich King will be second major WoW expansion, after the first, WoW: The Burning Crusade which has sold for millions of copies. “The Lich King” is currently still in beta testing, although for now, participation in the beta is only available to players with active Burning Crusade accounts, and even then, the betas are still only distributed to the selected few. We do hope within a few months the expansion will launch and be available to the general public as reports from those who have played the beta version are largely positive, with almost no major concerns.
