That’s right! Sony has officially confirmed the availability of the 250GB PS3 Slim. The new model will be available on November 3rd, 2009. The 250GB PS3 Slim retails for $349.99 each. Zenrin Japan will release a new GPS software for the Sony PlayStation Portable on November 5th, 2009. Known as the Minna No Nabi (Everyone’s GPS), the program is compatible with Sony PSP 1000/2000 and 3000 series (not compatible with PSP Go) and provides Sony’s latest Social PetaMap service. The Minna No Nabi will be available in Japan for around 8,190 Yen ($88) without the GPS Module. [Zenrin]

Word has it that a new $100 price cut for the Sony PlayStation 3 is coming in mid-august this year. Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia reports in his latest industry note that “industry sources indicate Sony is planning a $100 price cut on the PS3 in mid-August, just prior the launch of Madden (8/18) and the start of the back to school shopping season.
