It seems that Apple is serious about mobile gaming business. Earlier this week, Apple hired Bob Drebin, chief technologist at Advanced Micro Device’s graphics group and the creator of the Nintendo Gamecube’s graphics processor. Apple is also putting some of its huge pile of cash into semiconductor technology. In December, Apple also purchased 3.6% of U.K.-based ImagInation, licensing its PowerVR graphics technology. And last year Apple purchased processor designer PA Semi for $378 million. [Kotaku]

Electronic Arts has launched The Sims Bowling for the Apple iPod. The game comes to life with vibrant graphics, sound effects, and multiple game modes. In this game, you can create a Sim and compete in a popularity contest, or bowl against a friend in “Pass-n-Play” and makes The Sims crowd go wild! Priced at just $4.99, the game requires a 5th generation iPod with iPod Software 1.2 or later. Sadly, the Sim Bowling is not compatible with the Apple iPhone.
