Namco’s Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 5 will be localized and brought to the United States. The original version of this game was released back in Winter 2007 in Japan for the Sony PlayStation 2. It seems that the story of the American version will go up to the end of the Sasuke rescue arc. The game will feature sixty playable characters and twenty-four maps. I don’t think they do read their emails. That’s the same response I always get, and what everyone else seems to get. From what I’ve read, UN5 was supposed to be released to us in November but was cancelled for some reason and now they have no plans of bringing it here.
I guess usa is not getting NUN5 and skipping to naruto ultimate ninja heroes 3 for psp i guess and they released NUN5 in Austraila,and Eruope in November not USA.

@bosszz13: PAL is just another name the European version goes by. I’m not exactly sure what if stands for, if anything. All the sites I’ve checked say the game has the PAL region code, meaning it’s a European game and you’d need a European PS2 to play it unless your PS2 is modded to play games from other regions.

I checked mightyape.com. If the game they have for sale is the same as the cover art that site shows, that is the PAL/European version. I can tell by the little orange box in the bottom left corner. If it were American, if would be a black and white box, more than likely saying “T” for Teens as that’s what all other Ultimate Ninja games have been rated. Europe has different ESRB ratings than the States. Theirs says “12+” for ages 12 and up.

@bosszz13: I check this and several other sites every day to try to find any new info about UN5. Things seem to have slowed down on all the sites I go to, though. Ever since Storm 2 was announced, it seems like less people care about UN5.
I have Ninja Council 2, Ninja Destiny, Path of Ninja, Clash of Ninja 1-2, Clash of Ninja Revolution 1-3, Uzumaki Chronicles, and Ultimate Ninja 1-4. I try to collect all the Naruto games released for all the consoles I own. I don’t have an Xbox 360 or a PS3, so I don’t have all the Naruto games. Some games, like Ninja Destiny and Uzumaki Chronicles, I didn’t like too much so I only have the first ones, but I’ll eventually get the rest for collecting purposes. I’d rather spend money on the series I love first, though.
Oh, I don’t have a PSP either, so I don’t have any of the Heroes games. That’s another reason why I’d much rather have UN5 be released than Heroes 3.

@bosszz13 I unlocked all the characters. By “still unlocking things” I meant stuff like the audio files and figures.
I like the DS. It has a lot of games I like. I own a car though, so I wouldn’t really need Heelys.
As for getting UN5, I don’t know when I’ll get it or if I ever will. I don’t have a European or modded PS2 so I need to wait for the NA region release, if there ever is one.

I’m not sure. I think newer TVs are region free, but if you still have an old tube TV you’ll probably need a PAL converter. I’m not sure how much they cost or where to buy them, though.

I doubt that it would only be in certain states. That doesn’t make any sense. Maybe some states will get it before others, but I’m certain if it’s released in any state, it will eventually be released in all of them.

I just got an email from Namco Bandai (not automated as far as I can tell) that says they have no current plans to release UN5 in North America. However, it didn’t say they never will, so maybe there’s still hope.

That’s an email that I got when I asked about UN5. All I changed was adding quotation marks around it. According to it, they aren’t bringing UN5 to America. I’d like to believe there’s still a chance, if people create that chance, but it seems like everyone’s either importing and forgetting about the game or saying to just sit around and wait. Obviously, the longer we wait the less time we have to convince them to release it and importing is just telling them we don’t care if we get it here or not.
I think sites like this are up because before it was announced the game was being released to Europe on November 27th, everyone assumed we’d be getting it then too. Since we’ve gotten every other game, that would make perfect sense. Either there were never intentions to release it here and some sites jumped to the conclusion they were, or they really were going to release it to us then and changed their plans at the last minute for some unknown reason.
Trust me, I know my stuff when it comes to this game. I spent all of November and December reading as many articles as I could find about UN5, trying to figure out if we getting it, why we may not get it, and if there was anything that could be done about getting it if we weren’t. From all that, I’ve gathered that Namco Bandai isn’t releasing this game to North America and there’s no reason behind it. They don’t want this game over here for some reason, but they aren’t saying why. In the email I sent I even asked why it hadn’t been released here yet and, as you can see, he avoided answering that question.
