Rumor has it, DivX support will be available for the PS3 within a few weeks. Now you can plug in your external HDD to the USB plug on the PS3 and watch your favorite videos. Not only will it support playback for files, but this also allows developers the option of using this sort of compression for in-game videos.
The Sony PSP just got lighter and thinner, with a faster loading time, and video out to play on a TV, it’s available for pre-order for $169.99.
Maybe the price you paid for your Sony Playstation 3 wasn’t that bad after all. How did we arrive at this? Some bored poindexters put a Sony PS3 console through a myriad of 108 Hour medieval torture. Different games, different conditions, different temperatures varying from a typical 73 degree fahrenheit room to the back of a freezer van, and even in a sauna. The PS3 passed with flying colors and is still running great. Crazy huh?
According to Reuters, Capcom’s CFO Kazuhiko Abe predicted a price cut for the PS3 just in time for the holidays. The Playstation 3 has been faltering in sales in comparison to the Nintendo Wii and XBox 360, largely do to its larger than life price. Considering that Sony is already losing money on each unit sold, this price cut brings Sony’s profit margin on the PS3 even deeper in the red. The good news is that some awesome games are scheduled to release on the Playstation 3 soon, but will it be enough (with the price cut) to put Sony on the forefront again? Either way, that thing is way too expensive and needs a price cut. This is awesome news for consumers who don’t give a crap about the XBox 360 and can’t find a Wii to save their life.
