Back in the old days, when games consoles could produce nothing more than an assortment of bleeps and bloops and coloured squares, people were content for their machines to play games well, and maybe give them the chance to write code.

Oh, how times change. Nowadays we get irritated if our consoles don’t have the ability to make us coffee in the morning or stream our favourite telly shows directly into our brains.
