Supposedly, Activision is putting legal pressure on Sony to keep them from releasing the patch that was supposed to release last week that allows the Gibson Les Paul Guitar Controller for Guitar Hero III for PS3 to function with Rock Band. This move will unlikely be any help for them sell more copies of Guitar Hero III, rather it might just boost Rock Band peripheral sales, namely the Fender Stratocaster controllers for Rock Band. Rock Band sells for $170, and it seems like it’s the better of the two games anyway.

Rumor has it, DivX support will be available for the PS3 within a few weeks. Now you can plug in your external HDD to the USB plug on the PS3 and watch your favorite videos. Not only will it support playback for files, but this also allows developers the option of using this sort of compression for in-game videos.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is the upcoming installment in the Gran Turismo series, which was confirmed as a Sony PlayStation 3 exclusive title at the E3 2007. The game will be released on both the Sony PlayStation Store and Blu-ray Disc on December 11, 2007 to celebrate the series’ 10th anniversary. Watch the trailer after the break.
